The Webb Law Firm Welcomes Three New Attorneys to Staff

 

PITTSBURGH, PA  (February 11, 2003)—The Webb Law Firm has announced the addition of three new attorneys to its staff: 

·         Gwendolyn R. Acker Wood, Ph.D., North Hills, recently  passed examinations for admission to the Pennsylvania Bar.
    She
has been licensed since 2001 to practice law with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

·         Alexander Detschelt, Robinson Township, recently passed the examination for admission to the Pennsylvania Bar. 
   He has been  licensed since 2001 to practice law with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

·         Patricia A. Olosky, Squirrel Hill, recently  passed examinations for admission to the Pennsylvania Bar and the United
   States Patent Bar.

 
The three attorneys will concentrate in intellectual property law involving patents, trademarks and copyrights.

Gwendolyn R. Acker Wood, Ph.D.

Born in New York City, NY, Gwendolyn R. Acker  Wood, Ph.D.  served as a law clerk at

The Webb Law Firm before becoming an attorney in late 2002.  Earlier in her career, she worked
as an adjunct professor, General Biology, and adjunct professor, Core Biology, both Department of

Natural and Biological Sciences, Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA, 1997  to 1999 and 1994 to

1999 respectively;  adjunct professor,  General Nutrition, Department of Quantitative and Natural

Sciences,  Robert Morris College, 1998 to 1999; adjunct professor, Advanced Pathophysiology,
Division of Nursing, School of Education, Health and the Arts Professions, and adjunct professor,
Department of Nutrition and Home Economics, both New York University, 1992 and 1987 to 1988

respectively; adjunct assistant professor, Biology, General Studies Program, New York University,

1986 to 1992; and assistant research scientist,  Nathan S. Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research, Center for Neurochemistry, 1984.

                Dr.  Acker Wood received a J.D. degree in 2002 from the Duquesne University School of Law,  Pittsburgh; and  a Ph.D.  degree in biological sciences in 1984 , a M.S. degree in 1981 and a B.S. degree in 1973 from  New York University where she majored in biology.  Her honors and awards include postdoctoral fellow, Brain, Behavior and Immunity Center, Department of Pathology, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, 1992 to 1994; and  postdoctoral fellow, Department of Pharmacology, 

Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York , NY, 1984 to 1986.  Her areas of certification and specialization include Intellectual Property and the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.

                Her published works include "Peptide Influences on the Development and Regeneration of Motor Performance,” Gwendolyn R. Acker, Saint-Come, Claude and Fleur L. Strand, Peptides 3:439-449, 1982;  "ACTH Peptide Neuromodulation in the

Dr. Acker Wood is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association and the Pittsburgh Intellectual Property Law Association.

She resides in the North Hills of Pittsburgh with her  husband Donald M. Wood, Jr.

 

 
Alexander Detschelt

Born in Duesseldorf, Germany, Alexander Detschelt served as a law clerk at  The Webb
Law Firm before becoming an attorney in late 2002.

Detschelt received a J.D. degree in 2002 from the University of Akron School of Law, 
Akron, Ohio,  and B.S. degree in 1999  from the  University of Pittsburgh where he majored in
computer science.  His areas of certification and  specialization include
Intellectual Property and
the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.

Detschelt  is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, American Bar  Association, Pittsburgh Intellectual Property Law Association and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).

 
He resides in the Robinson Township area of Pittsburgh. 

Patricia A. Olosky

                Born in Clearfield, PA, Patricia A. Olosky served as a law clerk at  The Webb Law

Firm before becoming an attorney in late 2002.

Law and a Pharm. D. degree in 1999 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy.

Trademark Office, and U.S. Plant Patents and Other Botanical Protections.

                Olosky is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Allegheny County Bar Associ-

ation, Pittsburgh Intellectual Property Law Association and American Pharmaceutical Association.

She resides in the Squirrel Hill area of Pittsburgh with Ian Robertson originally of the Mt. Lebanon section of Pittsburgh.
